what i see

New neighbor!
Originally uploaded by jacquichris
yesterday, we hung most of the paintings and photos around the house. at this point, we are down to finding furniture for various 'holes'. this will probably take some time because we want things to be right and need to wait for our financial reserves to refill!

and now some images from my new home:

this little guy was the first neighbor we met. he was pretty quick to dart away but did wait for me to capture his gorgeous mug on camera...

First bird

using a genorous housewarming present from Dave and Nancy, we purchased shepherd's hooks and a few bird feeders Saturday afternoon. this is a photo of one of our first visitors Sunday! as you can see, he was quite curious about the silly biped on the other side of the glass.

finally, this beaut is just for Cathy. the first bloom from a lily we planted off our patio. kudos go to Mom and Rol for their inspiration regarding the yard!

Wooo - isn't that a beautiful daylily? Gorgeous!!

I had the skinks (isn't that what they are?) at the farm. On the screened back porch. Black snakes came to call and hunt. Might keep a look out.

The birdfeeders are a success! Do you have hummingbird feeders up?

I agree with Cathy, that is one gorgeous daylily.

You have much more interesting lizards than we have here in WA. Ours our mainly earthtoned it seems.

What kind of bird is that? At first I thought it was a cardinal but then I noticed it didn't have the little head tuft. What other kind of birds do you have in TN?

I'm glad you're getting settled.
How are you liking the new place?
I'm with Denise. Our lizards are incredibly plain next to that guy. What a great tail!

you know, i am not sure what kind of bird it is. i think it is a cardinal of some type (they don't all have crests) but i am going to have to get a new field guide. my current one is for the Western states.

i will let you know once i figure it out!
